Home to Ohio’s oldest brewery, the Brew Pub was founded in 1843 and has been slinging the good suds ever since. Locally owned and operated the Brew Pub features a wide variety of craft brews including our personal favorite the Points & Boundaries IPA. What’s even cooler is that the boys at Brew Pub have created such in demand beers that they now have a regional distribution network to include the entire state of Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia.
This Irish pub is authentic as it gets. Located on Chillicothe Street, Port City looks and feels like a legit Irish Public house featuring great live music and an awesome selection of Irish beers and spirits. The bar staff is knowledgeable and more importantly always smiling.
The newest bar in Boneyfiddle features the town’s largest selection of craft beers and burgers. If you’re looking for the ultimate decadence grab the Donut burger and wash it down with the Maple Pancake Porter. This place is pumping life back into Boneyfiddle and using beer as the blood.
The hidden jewel on the West End. The ambiance features subtle art deco that blend effortlessly into historic architecture. Pats is more than a place to grab a beer, it’s an authentic Portsmouth experience. Plus, every now and then you can watch a horse race a motorcycle right there in the middle of the bar #truestory.
STAG BAR -
Right before you head out of town going North on 23, there’s a little spot overlooking the Scioto River called the STAG. For decades it was a destination for men to escape their wives and household chores due to a strict no women policy. However in recent years the Stag has lifted this policy and opened their doors to the lady folk. Once inside you’ll find the two main reasons the Stag made our list:
- Coldest Beer in town
- The only shuffle board in town. Need we say more?
